French 75
Uncork elegance with Drylaw's French 75, where gin, lemon & Champagne unite in sparkling symphony.
Ingredients
30 ml Drylaw gin
15 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
7.5 ml simple syrup
Champagne to top off
Lemon twist garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Begin by chilling a Champagne flute or wine glass in the refrigerator or by adding ice and water for a few minutes before using. This step maintains the cocktail's elegance.
Step 2
In a cocktail shaker, combine 30 ml of Drylaw gin, 15 ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 7.5 ml of simple syrup. These ingredients are the foundation of your French 75.
Step 3
Shake the mixture vigorously for approximately 10-15 seconds. This ensures that the cocktail is thoroughly chilled, well-mixed, and the flavors are harmoniously combined.
Step 4
Strain the cocktail into the chilled flute or wine glass. Using a fine strainer or a julep strainer will prevent any ice or solid particles from entering your drink.
Step 5
Top off the cocktail with Champagne. Champagne adds an effervescent, elegant touch to the cocktail. Pour it slowly to avoid excessive foaming.
Step 6
Garnish your French 75 with a lemon twist. To release the aromatic oils from the lemon twist, gently hold it over the glass and twist it, allowing the oils to fall into the drink. Place the twist in the glass for a visually pleasing and aromatic finishing touch.
